On March 10th Wizards of the Coast made an update to their Authorized Internet Retailer Agreement which now restricts ABUGames.com and other Internet Retailers from selling ANY Magic Boosters, Boxes or Packs outside the USA.
Authorized Internet Retailers like ABUGames.com are restricted from selling "Sealed Magic Product" outside the USA. Before the March 10th update "Sealed Magic Product" was defined as In Print items so we were allowed to sell Magic Boxes outside the USA as long as the product was Out Of Print. I assume the reason why Wizards cannot allow new product shipped overseas has something to do with contracts with wholesalers in other countries. The problem with the old definition of "Sealed Magic Product" was that certain items like Fat Packs or special products like Duel Decks are essentially Out of Print the day they are released. Obviously the intent of the Restriction on overseas sales was meant to cover these products as well. So we did not sell these products overseas to be sure that we did not break any rules. I’m assuming that other retailers did not see things the same way and used this as justification to sell these products overseas. Whether or not my assumptions are correct, Wizards felt they needed to change their policy. Unfortunately, instead of making a common sense update they changed the definition of "Sealed Magic Product" to include ALL Magic Product be it In Print or not. I cannot think of any good reason to restrict the sale of an Antiquities booster or an Urza’s Saga Booster Box outside the USA, but that’s what this update has done. What this will do to the value of older Magic Product is unknown, but unquestionably the availability of these items to international customers from legitimate sources will be severely restricted. This will mean that if you are an international customer looking for old sealed Magic product you will be limited to buying from individuals at artificially inflated prices.
I feel that a far better solution would be for Wizards to change the restriction to only apply to product released for some time period, maybe 3 or 4 years. This would solve the problem of One-Time Print Products and still allow the sale of old Magic items that there is no need to restrict. If you feel the same please send an email to –

Please be sure to be kind and respectful in your email. Just voice your concern over the change and encourage a common sense update to their policy that will allow the sale of old Magic Boxes and Packs. Remember Wizards is the reason we have this great game!
